Cosmetology: Permanent Single-Process Retouch with a Glaze

Tools and Materials required for Permanent Single-Process Retouch with a Glaze:

  • Waterproof cape
  • Comb
  • Shampoo
  • Towels
  • Conditioner
  • Protective cream
  • Plastic clips
  • Color chart
  • Plastic cap
  • Cotton
  • Protective gloves
  • Client record card
  • Applicator brush or bottle
  • Selected haircolor
  • Timer
  • Selected permanent haircolor
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Plastic or glass bowl and applicator brush


Procedure:

  1. Part dry hair into four sections.
  2. Apply color to new growth using ¼ inch partings. Do not overlap onto previously colored hair. Overlapping may cause damage and a line of demarcation (a visible line between colored hair and new growth).
  3. Complete all four sides and set timer for 45 minutes.  Rinse and towel dry.
  4. Prepare a no lift deposit only glaze formula to apply to the mid-strand and ends.
  5. Apply the no lift deposit only glaze and work through the hair
  6. Check hair color results.
  7. Style the hair.
  8. Complete the client’s record.
